— in the midst of a January stillness

Good Morning (and/or Afternoon) All,

On the way to the airport, we stopped at our home once more, for Holly had in her bedroom window set up a time-lapse of the field and skyline across the dirt road. Well, in truth, that was partially the excuse so we could stop by one last time to check if the walls were whispering.

The new owner (and house murderer) plans to rip it down this month. The mice, who were in for a rude shock last week when all the food disappeared, will soon be in for a far ruder shock.

The trip to the airport takes around thirty minutes. I always wish it would take a couple of hours. But Johs and Holly and I did okay at good-bye time. A few tears mixed with laughter, and there is every likelihood they shall be returning in April.

The drive home takes a couple of hours. I always wish it could take around thirty minutes, the better to hop into bed and sleep for—with luck—the first three hours after their departure. After that, I am usually okay.

Right now, of course, I have this Day Book entry to get out. That’s a help, thank you very much!

Go Well and Stay Well,

Bhekaron

P.S. Yesterday, I forgot a stat. We rented a dumpster the size of a small swimming pool and tossed into it junk we didn’t feel like hauling to the dump. The dumpster people weighed it and informed us we hit 1.8 tons!
