An April Aubade
A flock of blackbirds
In the apple boughs
A C-Clef of song sparrows
Alighting along
The telephone lines
Frolicking lawn robins
And a dozen pigeons
Cooing among the tulips
Have just now invited my
Neighbor’s dog Bamsa and me
To hear their enrapture
In four-part harmony.
Of Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus
