— nothing stirring in the copse that borders my backyard

Good Morning All,

As I wrote to the kids just before midnight, yesterday was a most pleasant day! After three weeks of ten-hour physical-labor days and a rush-to-the-summit week of fourteen-hour heavy-lifting days, I stayed in bed until nearly 7:30, got up, sent my DayBook page out, puttered some, emptied two kitchen boxes, put in a load of laundry, puttered some more, then went to the hardware store in nearby Sorø for a bathmat, driveway salt, a birdfeeder pole, and a few other items.

After that, I hit supermarket for a few supplies, then a home-furnishing store for a spiffy new coffee machine. The old one had a tendency to make tar no matter how often I de-calcified it.

Back home, I emptied two more boxes, washed a bunch of dishes and was happy to see—thanks to how much softer the water is here--how clean everything became, especially the glassware.

And then I poured out the last glass of wine from the bottle of South African red we didn’t quite finish Saturday evening, pulled my chair up by the big south-facing windows, watched the occasional car go by as dusk settled in, and felt immeasurably lucky.

Go Well and Stay Well,

Bhekaron
